An Interior with Character
This interior continues the architectural concept of a house that deliberately challenges the conventional image of a speculative home. The building’s enclosed and highly private architecture is carried through into the interior, where a sense of comfort and restraint is balanced by carefully considered moments of expression.
Interiors for homes built for sale are often designed to be as neutral and universally appealing as possible. Here, we took a different approach. We kept a warm palette and natural materials, creating a welcoming atmosphere that can appeal to a broad range of potential owners, while adding character through distinctive details and a careful attention to nuance.
The kitchen is a good example of this approach. Fluted cabinetry adds depth and tactility to the composition, while the stone finish extends beyond the conventional backsplash to form a continuous frame around the kitchen. These gestures remain subtle, yet give the space a distinctive identity.
Finding the balance between individuality and versatility was essential. This is not an interior designed around a particular family or lifestyle. Instead, it remains deliberately neutral enough to accommodate different future owners, while still possessing a strong sense of character and atmosphere.
Expressive materials, refined detailing, and carefully composed elements allow the interior to move beyond the feeling of a typical speculative home without significantly increasing the complexity of construction. Each decision serves several purposes at once: shaping the visual identity of the space, reinforcing the architecture of the house, and adding value to the overall experience.
As a result, the interior becomes an integral part of the house’s architectural concept rather than simply its finishing layer. It is a space where commercial efficiency meets architectural character: a home with a distinctive identity for the developer to offer, and a place with a sense of individuality that future owners can experience from the moment they walk through the door.
