Architecture of a Simple Form

The concept of Rectangle House is built around a straightforward challenge: to create an expressive contemporary home while keeping the construction as rational and cost-efficient as possible.

The architecture is based on a simple rectangular volume. Clear horizontal lines, defined by the first-floor slab and the roof, establish a calm and minimal silhouette. Rather than complicating the building structure itself, we shifted the main architectural expression to the facade.

The horizontal composition is deliberately emphasized through the choice and arrangement of materials. To break up the monotony of the extended horizontal lines, we introduced a vertical rhythm of timber slats combined with tiles of varying widths. The interplay between horizontal and vertical elements creates a more complex visual structure and adds depth to the facade.

This approach allows the house to retain a simple and economical architectural foundation while giving it a distinctive identity. The rectangular volume no longer reads as an ordinary two-story box. Through the combination of materials, rhythm, and proportions, the facade becomes an integral architectural composition in its own right.

Rectangle House demonstrates how even the simplest geometry can become the foundation for expressive architecture. Here, character is achieved not by making the structure more complex, but through a precise approach to the facade, materials, and their rhythm.
