This project was born from the very essence of Hawaii’s landscape — its hills, ocean, greenery, and light. Located on a scenic slope with stunning views of the Pacific, our goal was to open the home fully to its surroundings.
We raised the structure above the ground so that the views immediately became part of everyday life. The kitchen and living room now look straight out to the ocean, filling the space with light and sea breeze throughout the day. In the evening, the master bedroom offers one of the most breathtaking sunsets we’ve ever seen.
The layout was shaped around these views — every key room is positioned where the landscape enhances the interior, not the other way around.
Outside, we wanted the house to blend seamlessly into the terrain. We used natural materials, especially wood. The facade features vertical wooden slats that play with light and shadow, echoing the nearby trees.
A pitched roof adds height and light to the interiors, creating a sense of openness and flow.
The result is a home where architecture works with nature — open to the wind, the sun, and the views we love most about Hawaii.
