SIMPLE Restaurant is located within a historic constructivist building at 2 Sverdlova Street in Minsk, Belarus. Initially built in 1936 by architect Gruber, the building now houses a restaurant designed by architect-designer Natalia Raksha from "ZROBIM ARCHITECTS."
The interior design reflects the Restaurant's concept of modern, experimental Belarusian cuisine prepared entirely from local ingredients. The aesthetic aligns with the Restaurant's name—SIMPLE—offering a straightforward yet refined ambiance. Furnishings from the Restaurant's previous location were reused wherever possible, supplemented with locally crafted items to enhance the space's connection to the region.
The primary objective of the layout was to create open, bright zones without adding extra partitions. This approach allows guests multiple seating scenarios within a single, unified area, including low and high seating for varied comfort levels.
The wine cabinet and sommelier table are focal points, supported by a monochromatic contrast of black and white to delineate zones. The black glossy bar counter, crafted from porcelain stoneware with a black marble pattern, is a central visual anchor designed to appear weightless, blending seamlessly into its surroundings. Consistent lighting ties different areas together, creating a spacious, cohesive environment that meets the client's objectives of restoring and reimagining the original furniture and fixtures.
