The client for this project spends most of the workweek traveling and only stays at the apartment on weekends. As such, the space needed to be a sanctuary for rest and relaxation, visually embodying a sense of calm and luxury. After spending the week in a work vehicle, the client likened the apartment to a high-end car that he switches to for weekend comfort.
A standout feature of the interior is a large corner fireplace that commands attention from the entrance, dining area, and living room and serves as the focal point of the design. It is finished with gray granite and complemented by warm honey-colored veneer to introduce softness and comfort to the sleek aesthetic.
Custom-designed furniture pieces, including the cabinetry, dining table, kitchen, and bed, were tailored specifically for this project based on designer sketches. The client’s appreciation for refined details and floating furniture elements is reflected in the extensive use of glass and the unique low-profile bed with subtle Japanese influences that seem to hover above the floor.
Special attention was given to the bathrooms. Instead of the usual guest and master division, the two bathrooms were designed based on functionality. The first is compact and has a shower, perfect for a quick morning refresh to start the day energized. The second is more spacious and features a freestanding bathtub ideal for unwinding after a long day.
Every element of this interior was thoughtfully chosen and precisely organized to reflect the owner's lifestyle and personality.
