Private property without fences, a personal recreation area, and a picturesque hilly landscape—everything you need for a comfortable suburban lifestyle. This setting is perfect for those who seek to live in harmony with themselves and nature, embracing a community built around this shared vision of peaceful, balanced living.
The project centers on creating a compact residential township within an hour’s drive from the capital of Mongolia. The homes are designed to meet the varying needs of young families, offering options with two, three, or four living rooms. This diversity ensures that each family can find a home that fits their lifestyle and expectations, providing comfort and flexibility in a modern suburban setting.
When designing the township, privacy is a crucial consideration. In this case, privacy is achieved by carefully positioning the homes about one another, with the natural topography working to our advantage. The general plan ensures the houses are spaced apart to preserve their visual appeal while maintaining privacy. Each home is strategically oriented based on the direction of the landscape’s natural contours and key view axes, ensuring optimal sightlines and harmonious integration with the surroundings.
Given that the slope faces south and southeast, we positioned the homes on their lots to maximize interaction with the stunning views of the surrounding hills, mountains, and sunlight. This orientation ensures that each home benefits from the natural beauty of the landscape while enjoying abundant natural light throughout the day.

The challenging terrain of the site is a defining feature of our township, and we paid particular attention to it. With the extensive use of panoramic glazing in the architecture, it was crucial to position the homes on the slope to provide stunning views of the landscape and surrounding vegetation. At the same time, the transport links were designed to ensure maximum comfort for residents.
Given the compact size of the area, we developed two types of streets: a central road and smaller roads at key turning points, with widths of 20 feet and 13 feet, respectively. These roads are separated by landscaped islands that serve noise-reducing, aesthetic, and ecological functions, enhancing the township's beauty and livability.
One of the key factors shaping this project was Mongolia's extreme continental climate, characterized by very hot summers and freezing winters. Addressing overheating and insulation was crucial in the architectural design and selecting appropriate structural systems. As a result, we developed three types of houses that vary in size and number of rooms and how they interact with the terrain. Each design considers the climate challenges while ensuring comfort and energy efficiency for residents throughout the year.
As part of the concept, we selected minimalist, natural materials to ensure the architecture blends seamlessly with the existing landscape rather than disrupting it.
Concrete is the primary material for this project—calm, reliable, and harmonizing with the surrounding rock formations. Wood, a warm and natural material, is used in more tactile areas such as terraces and entryways, offering a pleasant interaction with the architecture. Anthracite metal serves as a complementary backdrop, adding depth and helping to create a more expressive and modern architectural image.
In township design, the calculation of technical and economic indicators is critical. We begin by dividing the site into functional areas, each represented as a percentage of the total land use. From this, we create several economic models, offering customers and potential investors a range of development options. These models provide a clear financial overview, helping to optimize the use of space while ensuring profitability and sustainability for the project.

A distinctive feature of this house design is that all the rooms are arranged on a single story, with the entrance at the rear facade. Meanwhile, the front of the house extends out over the land's natural slope. All living spaces are oriented toward the best views, which are showcased through expansive panoramic glazing, offering uninterrupted vistas of the surrounding landscape.

The house is elevated on piles to address the freezing issue, while slight overhangs around the perimeter protect it from overheating during hot summer days. This thoughtful response to the unique climate ensures comfort and shapes the house's distinctive architectural identity, blending functionality with aesthetic appeal.
Unlike the single-story design, this house features two levels divided into two distinct blocks: one for living and the other for housekeeping. The living block is elevated above the street and neighboring houses, providing unobstructed views of the surrounding landscape from all the main rooms, enhancing the connection with the natural environment while maintaining privacy.

We designed overhangs around the perimeter of the common area to shade the terrace and block direct sunlight during the summer. The primary bedroom features front shutters, which allow you to open them to enjoy the view while maintaining privacy and comfort.
This type of house differs from the previous two in that the first floor serves a residential function. In addition to the standard garage and entry area, it includes a bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and an office. The entrance and access to the house are through the lower level, allowing the second-floor living spaces to benefit from expansive views of the surrounding landscape, maximizing both privacy and visual appeal.

The house features extensive overhangs around the perimeter of all living areas, protecting from overheating during the summer. In the winter, when the sun is lower, these overhangs allow sunlight to enter the rooms, offering extra natural heating and enhancing energy efficiency throughout the year.
