In this project, we were tasked with partially reconstructing an existing house and redesigning the façades. The client wanted to keep the original layout while adding key areas, including a bathhouse, utility block, and carport.
We completely reimagined the entryway, incorporating all the missing functions. The design includes a two-car floating canopy and a unique feature—a circular cutout for a growing tree. This tree will cast dynamic light and shadow throughout the day and be beautifully illuminated at night. It also acts as a natural divider, visually separating the entrance to the house. The entrance to the utility block and bathhouse is to the right of the tree.
Additionally, the client requested reduced sunlight entering the home while preserving the large panoramic windows. We addressed this by adding a canopy extending approximately 6.5 feet, which blocks direct sunlight and prevents the interior from overheating.
