GHELETSKALI HOUSE

Architectural project

Project Description

This unique project offered near-complete freedom in design, as there are no nearby neighbors, highways, or vehicular traffic beneath the house.

Situated on a plot where the client has agricultural land, the house serves as a counterpoint to the client’s existing Mediterranean-style home with its symmetrical garden, from which he desired a departure. Seeking a more enclosed, spontaneous, and secluded design, we conceived a house that serves as both a wall and a boundary—unassuming in appearance yet rich in function.

The layout is organized into four distinct blocks that form a courtyard patio with a swimming pool, barbecue area, and small garden. The first block houses staff quarters with a separate entrance and technical rooms. The second block combines communal spaces and the master suite, complemented by an adjoining observation tower—an extraordinary feature with a seating area on the upper level. The third block is the guest wing with guest bedrooms, and the final is an independent spa area.

The home is primarily single-story, with roof elevations over key areas to enhance natural light and create dynamic spaces. These elevated volumes feature pitched roofs with clerestory windows oriented toward optimal sun angles for natural lighting.
