FENESTRA RESIDENCE

Architectural project

Project Description

In designing this 10,000+ square foot home, we aimed to maximize privacy by positioning it at the greatest possible distance from neighboring properties while ensuring it could be appreciated from every angle. To enhance the views of the surrounding forest on one side and open fields on the other, we elevated the house above the road level.

The home features two floors: the first serves as a shared space, while the second is reserved for family use. Additionally, the first floor includes several semi-levels. The garage, set approximately 18 inches below the main floor, allows for easy access from the street, while the gym, lowered by about 24 inches, increases ceiling height, adding a sense of openness to the room.

Three key materials define the home’s exterior: anthracite granite, clinker brick, and large slabs of natural stone. The brick emphasizes the second-floor bedroom blocks, while porcelain stoneware lifts the house visually, creating the effect of a floating upper level. Natural stone is used in high-contact areas like the entryway and terrace. At the rear, a large porcelain stoneware frame provides privacy by shielding the floor-to-ceiling bedroom windows from neighboring views. Glass also plays a vital role here as a translucent material and a fourth finishing element that seamlessly blends the home into its natural surroundings.
